Courtyard cafe & gift shop
The Courtyard cafe, situated within our historic courtyard, is a beautiful location for a relaxing lunch, in homely surroundings, with indoor and outdoor seating for up to 48 people. A Welsh dragon, inspired by the medieval carving of the Blayney Room, and created in Gregynog oak peers down at you, as if looking for a hearty snack!
The cafe and shop are open from 10.00 am to 4.00pm every day during the Spring and Summer months. Last orders are 30 minutes before closing. We close for the winter months from the end of October until February half term. We will open for Christmas Events and some weekends and then from February half term 2018. Please contact us on 01686 650224 to confirm.
Our Spring/Summer New menu prepared fresh to order by Linda Jones, our Sous Chef or one of her team can be viewed here: 2017 Spring-Summer Cafe Menu
All our dishes are prepared by our Chef and her team, using locally sourced ingredients and cooked to order. Our seasonal menus include our lunch classics such as 60z prime Welsh beef burger, served with crispy pancetta, Caerphilly cheese, baby gem lettuce, red onion and tomato on a brioche bun & triple cooked chips or maybe try our traditional Welsh cakes or toasted teacake we also serve a variety of sponges and delicious sandwiches. Why not try our light bites, if you are replenishing after a long hearty walk, try our homemade salmon and cod fishcakes (with celeriac, remoulade & a fennel & watercress salad & lemon vinaigrette) made perhaps with a tipple of ‘Blayney’s Brew,’ our locally-made beer from the award-winning Monty’s brewery in honour of Arthur the ‘gentleman squire’ of Gregynog.
With a traditional Welsh welcome, all food is freshly prepared with fresh flowers on the table and an array of art on the walls.
We also welcome dogs and, in fact, are so canine friendly that we have dog chews for sale in the shop.
The gift shop is open daily for a selection of traditional and charming Welsh crafts, ceramics and books, plus Gregynog honey, produced in our apiary, is seasonally available but subject to the whim of the bees!
Excellent food, fantastic surroundings, lovely staff, brilliant service.
