Courtyard cafe & gift shop

COURTYARD CAFE

We apologise but we are only able to offer hot drinks and cakes for the last few days of our December opening (Friday 15th, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th December (no hot food will be available) – our apologies for any inconvenience

The Courtyard cafe, situated within our historic courtyard, is a beautiful location for a relaxing lunch, in homely surroundings, with indoor and outdoor seating for up to 48 people. A Welsh dragon, inspired by the medieval carving of the Blayney Room, and created in Gregynog oak peers down at you, as if looking for a hearty snack!

The shop is open from 9.00 am to 4.30pm every day during the Winter months. From Friday 2nd November the Cafe will be open from 10.00am – 3.30pm Thursday – Sunday (closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays), with last orders at 3.00pm.  Please note that our Cafe will be closed from Monday 18th December and re-opens on St David’s Day Thursday 1st March 2018

Our New Winter menu with foods prepared fresh to order by Linda Jones, our Sous Chef or one of her team can be viewed here: Autumn-Winter Cafe Menu 2017 2018

All our dishes are prepared by our Chef and the team, using locally sourced ingredients and cooked to order, including many fresh salads and vegetables from our own greenhouse. Our seasonal menus include our lunch classics such as Welsh Beef Casserole, served with Rustic Bread or for one of our light bites why not try our Welsh Lamb Cawl, served with Welsh Cheddar Cheese & Rustic Bread or for our vegetarian friends a Brie, Grape & Basil Panini, served with our House Salad, Honey Vinaigrette & Homemade Coleslaw.   For our guests with a sweet tooth one of our best sellers is our Traditional Homemade Welsh cakes or toasted teacake (we also serve a variety of sponges and delicious sandwiches).  If you are in need of replenishment after a long hearty walk take a look at our daily ‘specials board’ there’s plenty of choice to suit all. Why not add a tipple of ‘Blayney’s Brew,’ our locally-made beer from the award-winning Monty’s brewery in honour of Arthur the ‘gentleman squire’ of Gregynog.

With a traditional Welsh welcome, all food is freshly prepared with fresh flowers on the table and an array of art on the walls.

We also welcome dogs and, in fact, are so canine friendly that we have dog chews for sale in the shop.

The gift shop is open daily for a selection of traditional and charming Welsh crafts, ceramics and books, plus Gregynog honey, produced in our apiary, is seasonally available but subject to the whim of the bees!
